Join us every first Saturday!
Quadrillion: noun. a gathering of like-minded folks to practice historical dance in a low-stakes, inclusive environment.
N.B.: this is not a definition of “quadrillion” one might find in Merriam-Webster. It started as a joke for what to call our practices because we were mostly working on Quadrilles (the most socially-distanced social dances!), but then it stuck. And honestly, we kind of like it.
Beginner Classes
Join us for beginner 19th century dance class from 4:30 - 5:45 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month at the Groton Grange Hall in Groton, MA. Each practice is $15, or you can sign up for several months at a time for a small discount.
During each class we will work on foundational techniques for popular 19th century dances including contra dances, quadrilles, and round (aka “couple”) dances. No partner or previous experience required!
Tickets are now available for monthly classes for our Fall session Sept - Nov 2024. We hope you’ll join us! For any questions please reach out to welcome@footworkandfrolick.org.
Advanced Classes
Members of Footwork & Frolick gather before beginner classes to work on advanced material and ongoing dance reconstruction projects. Folks who have previously attended beginner classes and demonstrated the skills and knowledge to move on to more advanced material may be invited to join this earlier session. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to welcome@footworkandfrolick.org!
